Alex Z. Wang is a New York City–based artist redefining the space of contemporary abstract painting. Known for his expressive use of oil on canvas and linen, Wang creates works that explore the tension between control and spontaneity. His paintings pulse with movement—like echoes of music, dance, or breath—frozen momentarily on the surface.

After a successful career in corporate strategy, Wang fully committed to his art practice in 2025, bringing with him a sharp intellect, an intuitive eye, and a deep curiosity for human experience. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, with additional training at The Cooper Union and the Art Students League of New York, Wang approaches abstract painting as both an emotional and philosophical exercise.

In addition to his visual art, Wang leads Honesty Brutal, a wearable art line that transforms his abstract paintings into fashion statements, extending the reach of his art into everyday life.

As a dedicated member of New York’s artistic community, Wang is affiliated with New York Artists Equity Association, Arts in Bushwick, and Smack Mellon. His practice is based in Bushwick and Greenwich Village, where he creates large-scale abstract paintings, works on paper, and experimental photography.
